The UK ranks among the lowest in the world for trust in government

The largest ever drop in trust across institutions of government, business, media and NGOs was recorded in a recent survey.

The 2017 Edelman Trust Barometer found that trust in media fell dramatically in 2016 and is at all-time lows in 17 countries.

Trust levels in government dropped in 14 countries, and is the least trusted institution in half of the 28 countries surveyed.

CEO credibility dropped 12 points globally, sitting at an all time low of 37 per cent.

The survey also found that 53 per cent of respondents believe the current system overall has failed them.
